What resulted was Brisbane’s first Total Fusion Platinum – one of the most beautiful and technologically advanced gyms in the country.  With a mix of Yoga, mixed fitness, Pilates and Run Club studios, the facilities are elevated by state of the art sound, lighting and high end finishes that Cavcorp have become famous for.

With Martin Audio already installed by Ampd on the rooftop of the Lucent building, Cavcorp and Total Fusion both understood the quality of the Martin range. It matched exactly with what they were trying to achieve with the fit out of the first Platinum studio.

Across the six studios, the mix of music playback requirements ranges from low-level yoga style mediation to high intensity nightclub style workout tracks. This, accompanied with the need for even coverage across each of the studios, meant the CDD range was the perfect tool to complete this project. With a range of mix of CDD6 and CDD8 boxes installed across the studios, supported with Blackline X210 Subs, the overall sound reproduction is second to none.

With instructors bringing in their own music for different classes, a quick and simple connection and operation system was required. Each room was fitted with a QSYS 5-inch touch screen which provided full operation of the rooms on a custom designed UCI, including microphone level, music level and AV control. Alongside this each room was fitted with a Shure SLX Radio Microphone system, radial wall-mount DI for auxiliary input and a Yamaha WXAD10 providing a Wi-Fi connection for instructors from any of their playback sources.

The central foyer and bathrooms were also fitted with systems to provide a seamless audio experience as soon as guests enter the club. The main reception desk was fitted with a 7 inch touch screen to provide full control of the club as well as paging to each of the rooms as required.

Located in such a highly populated residential area, noise pollution was carefully considered when designing the system. With classes starting as early as 5am, we needed to ensure that there was minimum impact for residents. To achieve this, we setup scheduled automatic level adjustments in the mornings and evenings to limit overall output which allows the instructors to operate as normal without needing to be concerned about manual changes.

The team at Total Fusion have loved the ease of use of the system. The ability of wireless playback of music has made instructing and moving around the studio easier than ever before. Members and staff have all commented on the clarity of the audio reinforcement. The overall experience Total Fusion Platinum provides, sets them apart from the many other players in the fitness and gym sphere.
